Which method of window cleaning is right for my windows?

Our waterfed poles and brushes are designed to be used on all types of glass and are soft enough to be used on old glass as well as new. It’s rare that we clean external windows using ‘traditional window cleaning’. We are happy to quote for either option depending on your personal preferences and we’ll always use the right method for your windows.

What is a Water Fed Pole System & how does it work?

You may have noticed increasing numbers of window cleaners using a brush on a telescopic pole to clean windows. These are known either as a Reach and Wash, Pure Water, or a Water Fed Pole System (WFP).

Water is passed through a series of filters to remove all impurities, leaving it completely pure with no bits in. The pure water is then pumped up a telescopic pole to a soft brush. The brush agitates the dirt and the purified water rinses it away. Any water left on the window dries completely clear to leave a smear free finish.

What are the advantages of the Pure Water System?

  • Using pure water requires no detergent, which is better for the environment and leaves windows cleaner as there is no detergent residue for dirt to cling to.
  • Frames and sills are cleaned at the same time as your glass and won’t be damaged by having a ladder leaning on them.
  • The Water Fed Pole system means no more ladder holes in your lawn
  • It’s better for your privacy as we don’t climb to your upstairs windows.
  • Windows inaccessible to ladders, including windows above conservatories, can be cleaned.

How often should I have my windows cleaned?

This depends on your individual requirements. We’re always happy to offer advice on the frequency of the clean for your property or business. We take into account your location, window type, budget and requirements, such as first impressions for potential customers. Typically residential customers opt for a 4/6/8 weekly clean, whereas business requirements vary from weekly to annual cleans, depending on the type of business.

How much will my window cleaning cost?

To ensure every customer receives value for money we provide an individual quotation for every property. As each building is different with varying window sizes we price each job by carrying out a visit to a potential customer’s home or business. This allows us to assess access to the property, the size and type of the windows and discuss any specific requirements. Quotation is tailored to your property meaning you’ll pay a fair and accurate price for your window cleaning.

Can you clean the insides of my windows?

Definitely. As well as the waterfed poles we mainly use to clean the exterior glass, we are experienced in traditional window cleaning methods used for internal glass.

Do you clean windows on commercial and industrial buildings?

We regularly clean windows on commercial premises. Hotels, offices, schools, Housing Associations, hotels, retail units, churches and public sector buildings are just some examples of our current customer base. As well as window cleaning we also provide other commercial exterior cleaning services including gutter cleaning. Whether it’s a one off or regularly scheduled clean, we have the exterior cleaning solution to suit your business needs.

I have a 3 / 4 storey house – can you still clean my windows?

Our waterfed poles can clean up to 63ft / 20 metres from the ground and can easily reach 5 storey windows.

Do you clean conservatories?

Yes, but not just conservatories, we can clean any type of glass, stained glass windows, swimming pool roofs, green houses, shed windows, outbuildings etc. Tell us when you book in a clean if you have any unusual buildings and we’ll be happy to provide a price for a clean.

Do I need to be at home when you clean the windows?

We can clean all external windows without you being home – as long as any access gates are unlocked. For internal cleans we will need access, but we can book in a specified time and date so there’s no need to wait in all day.

It’s raining; will you still clean my windows?

Our waterfed pole system of window cleaning means we can clean windows in almost any weather. There are however a few occasions when we can’t clean due to health and safety reasons. For example high winds would mean any high level window cleaning (above 3 storeys) could be unsafe. Icy conditions and lightning are also hazardous. Luckily the UK weather means these situations are rare. In most cases we will simply wait for the inclement conditions to pass and carry on. If for any reason your clean needs to be rescheduled we will contact you to rebook a suitable time.

Can I book my window clean for a specific time?

Of course! We understand how frustrating it can be to wait at home not knowing when to expect a window cleaner or delivery for example. Just let us know if you’d like a time when you arrange your window clean. We will usually give you a time frame. For example between 2-3pm.

Will I need to supply any water for the window cleaning?

No, our vans are self sufficient and carry all the water we need for the day.

My windows have been left wet – is this right?

The water we use is purified so any drops left on the windows will dry without leaving a residue.

I’m reaching the end of my tenancy, can you do a one-off clean?

We’re always happy to book in cleans of any frequency, whether that’s a one off clean or a regular booking.

I need to pay my window cleaning invoice, how can I pay?

Our bank details will be on the invoice we send, so payments can be made by BACS or online banking

Can the water damage or stain my property?

No, it’s pure water so it’s less harmful to your property than rainwater.

Are you a franchise?

No! It’s only me for now!

What does your insurance cover?

It covers any damage to property or injuries to any persons that may occur in the course of our work, up to £2,000,000.

Do you use any chemicals?

We do not use any chemicals for cleaning external windows. We may use a very small amount of specialist biodegradable window cleaning detergent for inside windows and conservatory roofs, but we would discuss with you before we use.
